How to get here
Three ways to find us
Bardia Wildlife Resort is located in the village of Thakurdwara, just 12km from Ambassa – the stopping point for buses from Butwal, Nepalgunj, Mahendranagar and further afield.
By bus:
There are regular buses from Kathmandu and Pokhara to Ambassa from where we can pick you up by safari jeep – please let us know which bus you are taking beforehand. Buses take around 14-16 hours from Kathmandu and Pokhara. There are many different types of bus but AC buses make for a more comfortable journey.
By air:
There are daily flights from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj in the morning and evening which take around 1 hour. From Nepalgunj you can take a jeep (2 hours) or a local bus (3 hours) to Ambassa from where we can pick you up and take you to the resort.
By land:
There are regular buses from New Delhi to Banbassa from where you can take a small bus (or horse ride) to Mahendranagar on the Nepali side of the border. Local buses from here will take you to Ambassa (4-5 hours) from where we can pick you up if you call us in advance.
